We offer composite bonding at your local dental practice in Fulham - it is a transformative cosmetic treatment that can turn your teeth from worn and shabby to smooth and symmetrical as little as an hour. If you think this sounds too good to be true, we’re here to explain the ins and outs.
Why might I need composite bonding treatment?
Our teeth go through a lot - whether it’s eating crunchy foods, drinking certain drinks, teeth grinding, opening bottles with your mouth or playing contact sports, there are endless ways for cracks and chips to form.
We’re not always happy with our natural teeth, either - if there’s a large gap between your teeth, or they’re an uneven shape, it can leave you feeling self-conscious.
As a private dental practice in Fulham, we’re committed to providing cosmetic treatments that make your teeth healthy and beautiful.
If you have cracked, worn, discoloured, damaged, chipped or uneven teeth, composite bonding is an excellent treatment to restore the appearance and strength of your teeth.
Can anyone get composite bonding treatment?
Before going ahead with the treatment, you will visit us for a consultation at our Fulham dental practice.
We will need to check that your teeth are in good condition - if they are decayed or you’re showing signs of gum disease, we will need to treat you first before starting any cosmetic treatment.
What is composite bonding made of?
The material we use in composite bonding procedures is a certain type of resin that matches the colour of your natural teeth. Its putty-like texture makes it ideal for moulding and shaping over your teeth to create the perfect result.
What happens during treatment?
First, we use a shade guide to find the perfect colour for your composite resin so that it blends in seamlessly with your natural teeth.
Then we roughen the surface of your teeth slightly and coat them with a special liquid to prepare them for treatment and help the resin to stick firmly.
After this, we apply the resin, sculpting it to fill cracks and gaps, cover discolouration or re-shape uneven surfaces.
Finally, the resin is hardened using a UV light and given one final polish until it’s perfectly formed.
What are the benefits?
Compared to other treatments like porcelain veneers, composite bonding is a cost-effective alternative that has a very similar aesthetic effect.
It will give you a stunning, white, symmetrical smile that looks good as new - plus, it’s extremely minimally invasive and requires no needles! It is a one-stop shop for many dental issues and the process can often be completed in one single visit.
